FUNDAMENTALS OF IMPLANT DENTISTRY
27th Oct - 1st Nov 2025
DAY 1 - Monday
LECTURES
Lectures will include the fundamental principles of hard and soft tissue healing and anatomy of dental implants, The macro/microscopic design of implants, Surgical anatomy, surgical complications and implant complications, risk factors and medical histories of patients.
DAY 2 - Tuesday
HANDS ON SUTURING/FLAP DESIGN & IMPLANT PLACEMENT
Hands on component - attendees will learn the fundamentals of suturing, flap design and implant placement protocols utilising life like models.
DAY 3 - Wednesday
HANDS ON IMPLANT PLACEMENT & BONE GRAFTING
Hands on component - attendees will learn the fundamentals of suturing, flap design and implant placement protocols utilising Pigs heads.
DAY 4 - Thursday
LIVE SURGERIES
Attendees will carry out implant placement under supervision.
DAY 5 - Friday
LIVE SURGERIES
Attendees will carry out implant placement under supervision.
DAY 6 - Saturday
LIVE SURGERIES, TORQUE TESTING & XRAY CHECKS
Attendees will carry out implant placement under supervision in the in the morning and assess patient’s healed implants in the afternoon.
ONGOING POST COURSE SUPPORT
Attendees will be added to a Private AIM WhatsApp Group For Continued Support and Mentorship

About Steven Soukoulis
Dr. Steven Soukoulis graduated with a Master's in Periodontics in 2001, following a clinical residency at the Adelaide Dental Hospital. During this time, he also worked in the medically compromised clinic, gaining extensive experience in dental trauma, treating dental patients with systemic diseases, and implantology. He transitioned into private practice and has continued to expand his practice in implantology. Dr. Soukoulis is also heavily involved in education, both in Australia and abroad. Additionally, he is a founding member of the DIR and to this day continues to support its activities.
