The incidence of peri-implantitis varies in the literature, however, the rate appears to range between 5-15% at 5 years. The pathogenesis of peri-implantitis is multifactorial and not all implants that present with peri-implantitis can be treated. The diagnosis and treatment planning including the flap design, type of bone grafting protocol or explantation method is extremely important to achieve a positive result for the patient. Learning Objectives: • Diagnosis of Peri-Implantitis • Treatment Planning to Assist in Determining if Treating or Explanting the Affected Implant • Peri-Implant Hard and Soft Tissue Grafting • Explantation Techniques and Grafting This course will have hands-on practical components that will be performed on life-like models by all participants.
